Summertime Slushy

A hand holding a mason jar filled with a red drink. The jar has a wooden lid with a metal straw. The person is wearing a green shirt with white stripes and pink floral patterns.

A chilly, vibrant, ice-cold drink bursting with fresh watermelon flavor is perfect for hot July days. Once the watermelon is frozen, this drink comes together quickly and easily.

Watermelon Slushy

INGREDIENTS

6 cups seedless watermelon, cubed

1 tbsp lime juice

2½ tbsp honey or agave syrup

¾ cup cold water or coconut water

INSTRUCTIONS

Cut a seedless watermelon into cubes to make six cups and spread on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Freeze for at least 2 hours or overnight until solid.

Add the frozen watermelon, lime juice, honey or agave syrup, and cold water or coconut water to a high-powered blender. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until completely smooth and slushy.

Taste the slushy and adjust sweetness with more honey/agave or add another splash of lime juice for extra zing. Blend briefly if you add anything.

Pour immediately into chilled glasses. Serve right away while icy cold.
